If you already own a rental property, don’t wait—transfer it into an LLC right away. Why? Because tenants or visitors can sue, and without an LLC your personal assets are exposed. The good news: banks don’t care if you set up an LLC and deed the property over, as long as you’re still the underlying owner. An LLC is your first layer of asset protection against lawsuits.
