How Do SNAP Benefits Impact Food Insecurity? | Episode 3 of Just the Facts: Do You Qualify?

14% of Americans experience food insecurity. Government programs that provide support for these families include SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program), WIC (Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children), and the school meal programs such as the National School Lunch Program. Eligibility for these programs is based on income and SNAP eligibility is also based on work requirements. SNAP provides around $6 a day per person. In September, the USDA announced it was terminating future Household Food Security Reports which we reference in this video.
